Program enrollment will begin in spring 2024!
Four Primary Practice Incentives:
Cover Crops – The RCPP program will pay up to $103.80 per acre for overwintering, multi-species cover crop mixes (more than 1 species), regardless of the application method, if minimum rates per acre are followed. For example, aerial application can require twice the rate compared to drilled. Contracts between 2 and 5 years are being offered.
An example payment scenario covering the maximum per acre payment rate:
Seeding/application ($22.74/ac) + seed ($57.24/ac) + termination ($23.10) = $103.80
Cover crops are also being offered on portions of fields more susceptible to erosion and nutrient loss through land rental payments.
Nutrient Management – The RCPP program will pay up to 100% of the cost covered for a nutrient management plan and up to $85.94 per acre for deep placement of nutrients, and associated record keeping, soil and stalk testing.
No-till/Strip-till – The RCPP program will pay up to $22.74 per acre to transition to no-till or strip-till.
Tile Drainage Management – The RCPP program will pay up to 100% cost share for drainage water management (manual or automated water control structures), bioreactors, and saturated buffers.
Other practice incentives:
- Short-term, generous land rental payments for harvestable grasses on marginal ground
- Filter strips for field borders
- Transition to organic
- Growing of hemp (limited number of acres)
