Decatur, IL – The City of Decatur is replacing water mains in the South Shores neighborhood on Medial Drive, Imboden Drive, and a section of South Franklin Street. The water mains in this area are more than 50 years old and have been prone to leaks.
Our contractor, Burdick Plumbing and Heating, Inc. is working on Medial Drive this month (road is closed to thru traffic until approx. May 2) and is storing materials in the area. Work on Imboden and S Franklin will be coordinated with school schedules. Please drive safely in these areas and mind the workers who are improving our infrastructure.
In addition to new water mains, we are installing new fire hydrants, which will improve safety in the area. This project is expected to last until June 2025.
