Another exciting economic development announcement! Governor Pritzker was in town to announce a $20+ million investment in electric vehicle infrastructure in Decatur. $6 million will be managed by the City and will go towards renovations to T/CCI Manufacturing so they can manufacture electric vehicle compressors. Another $15.3 million through Richland Community College will construct a Climate Center for Innovation and Research.
“This is fantastic news for Decatur and central Illinois,” said Decatur Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe. “Thank you to the Governor and other state and local leaders for helping Decatur build for the future and become a hub for electric vehicles.”
In addition to the investment, 150 jobs should be retained or created with this announcement. Read full release from the State here.
