Decatur, IL – The City is helping honor A.E. Staley and the Staley Family with permanent signage commemorating Mr. Staley’s legacy and his family’s continued impact on Decatur. In partnership with The Staley Museum and Ace Sign Company we designed a historical marker with information about Mr. Staley, the Staley Manufacturing Co., and his contribution to the creation of Lake Decatur. One sign is permanently installed along the shore near the Devon Amphitheater. A nearly identical sign will be placed later this summer in the Staley Basin at the soon-to-be-renovated Staley Boat Ramps on Country Club Road.
