Request for Proposals being Accepted Education and Employment Training

DECATUR – The City of Decatur is now accepting proposals for an Education and Employment Training program designed to increase or improve employment opportunities for low-income residents.

The program will allocate federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to the programs with the objective of expanding economic opportunities through collaboration amongst community businesses, organizations and agencies. The City is seeking qualified public agencies or private nonprofit organizations that demonstrate the capacity to carry out this eligible activity in partnership with the City of Decatur.

Agencies and organizations must demonstrate administrative, fiscal, technical and managerial capacity. CDBG sub recipient Power Point presentation.

Interested agencies are invited to the information meeting on Tuesday, November 27th in the 1st floor classroom of the Decatur Civic Center at noon.

Application packets will be available starting November 19th  in the Neighborhood Services Division on the 3rd floor of the Decatur Civic Center or by clicking on the following link for application packet:  CDBG App 2018-2019opens PDF file . A technical assistance session will also be held on Wednesday December 12th from 4 – 6 p.m. on the 3rd floor of the Civic Center in the Economic and Community Development Conference Room. Interested parties can attend during this time to ask questions or receive clarification on any part of the application process.
