Hearing Impaired
All call answering positions in the Emergency Communications Center are TTY capable. After the ECS call taker recognizes that the call is a TTY call, please type what kind of assistance you need, be it FIRE, POLICE or EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. Please attempt to answer any questions the call taker may have and please do not hang up until you are instructed to do so.
Non-English Speaking Citizens
Non-English speaking citizens should also dial 911 when help is needed. The Emergency Communications Center utilizes the services of LanguageLine and their interpreters are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for over 150 languages. Your language will be identified and an interpreter will generally be on the telephone within 60 seconds to help us in communicating with you. Please remain on the line and answer the ECS call takers questions so that help can be dispatched as quickly as possible.
The Emergency Communications Center is committed to providing equal access to all residents and to those with special needs.
