On 10/12/2022, at approx. 12:30 am, Decatur Police Officers conducted a traffic stop of a subject believed to be in possession of a firearm. During the stop, the suspect fired at the officers, shooting and wounding two of the officers. During the incident, officers returned fire, shooting the suspect. the suspect later died at a local hospital. In the interest of transparency, the Decatur Police Department is releasing the body-worn camera and in-car videos of the incident. The below link will re-direct to the videos.
