The City of Decatur has been notified of changes from two garbage haulers in Decatur, Waste Management and Advanced Disposal.
Waste Management and Advanced Disposal are suspending their normal bulky item collection until further notice.
Advanced also indicated that all garbage must be in a can and they will not pick up loose or bagged garbage not in a can without handles.
Out of fairness to all of our garbage haulers in the city, please do not put out bulky items at this time and ensure that you are using cans for your garbage and recycling waste in order to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
The City is working with the haulers to otherwise ensure that garbage service continues without disruption during this time.
